Idea Development Biography My name is Ng Zheng Kai, I’m currently in my first year of Design in Creative Media. I’m 21 this year. I studied Science for my whole life, and I used to major in engineering, but after a semester, I decided to change to design because I’m always drawn to create beautiful things for people to admire. I also admire hip hop, punk rock, and retro aesthetics. In my work, I want to express myself as being an “artsy” & casual person/ a cool hip hop culture-esque dude. Since I am an introvert, I like chilling and relaxing at home, reading books and listening to music, while there is also another side of me that is physically active in skateboarding and participating in hip hop culture such as break dance. In summary, I like hip hop, punk rock, and retro aesthetics. Statement For my design, I want to take two different versions of me, a chill “artsy” 90s style dude, and an active hip hop skater/b-boy. As mentioned in my bi

IVN Final Project: Animated 1 Page Visual Novel

Image
Technical Recap Continuing from Project 3, based on the selected story, create a ONE PAGE introduction of your visual novel or comic to your readers… with at least ONE animated panel. Arrange your story in visual sequences that make sense and easily understood. Consider the choice of panel arrangements and transitions. Determine as well which panel(s) will be best visualized as animation.  Choose the one that has the best timing in the story flow and transitions of the visuals that strongly reflect the narrative through characters, panels, particle effects, texts etc. Timing is important! Too slow, your animation will be draggy and boring. Too quick, your animation won’t make sense. So timed the flow appropriately! The challenges are: Continue with the same story and design aesthetics from Project 2 Work only from one paragraph of the story for the 1st page. Progress Firstly, I decide

Technical Recap Choose a story from the linked website. Break down the narrative of the chosen story into 3-act structures of Introduction - Climax - Epilogue. Then create 3 panels digital triptych illustrating each of the act.  Consider the interesting twists in the plots of each act, and include these into the design. Or you can highlight the notable icons or symbolisms that occur in these acts. Think of creating a premise preview for the story to make readers intrigued. The challenges are: Only one story from this website: https://poestories.com/stories.php No, you cannot use other story than the ones from the website Visuals are displayed in a series of three Include short non-spoiler text for each act Summary: For this assignment, I chose the story "The Masque of the Red Death".
